01 — The company
A new company, built on twelve years in the field
Atoll Harvest is a Maldivian agricultural venture. The company is new; its people are not. Our founders bring twelve years of hands-on experience growing, sourcing, grading and delivering fresh produce and mariculture across a dispersed island geography — the kind that punishes any weakness in handling or logistics.
We are consolidating that experience into dedicated domestic production at commercial scale: a professionally engineered farm island, the capital to build it, and a technology partner to run it to a consistent, resort-grade standard. We grow food that once arrived by ship — closer to the kitchens that serve it, and fresher when it lands.

02 — What we grow
Two harvests from one island
One circular mark carries both halves of the business: fronds sweeping in from the land, a lagoon wave curling around them. We farm both — a protected-environment horticulture platform on land, and mud crab and spiny lobster raised in the lagoon.

Protected-environment cultivation — insect-screened greenhouses, vertical farming and hydroponics — alongside open-field beds, an orchard, and a dedicated coconut palm plantation. The portfolio targets the Government’s priority import-substitution crops together with high-value produce for the resort and retail markets.

Premium seafood raised in the lagoon and harvested to order. Live mud crab graded by weight, and spiny lobster raised alongside — landed hours before service, not weeks, with the traceability resort kitchens expect. Grown a hundred metres from the greens that plate beside them.

Project Atoll Harvest — the flagship farm island
Our flagship is a high-technology, climate-smart farm on an uninhabited, agriculture-designated island in the Maldives — engineered to produce at commercial scale while keeping a generous, protected green shoreline.

On 16.42 hectares, the island is organized into functional zones that balance production intensity with environmental protection. A retained perimeter buffer and a dedicated coconut plantation keep generous green cover; production buildings sit inland of coastal setbacks.

Automated dosing of water and nutrients; NFT and substrate hydroponics that use a fraction of the water of soil farming, with a vertical/LED module multiplying growing area in a small footprint.
IoT & AI monitoring
Real-time sensors and remote dashboards reduce labour and enable data-driven decisions — with specialist agronomy oversight and an app-based grower platform supporting the team on the ground.
04 — Sustainability & biosecurity
Stewardship designed in, not added on
Environmental care and biosecurity are integral to the design. The project completes the required environmental screening and EIA before construction, and operates within all coastal and reef-protection regulations.
Reef & water
Closed-loop fertigation prevents nutrient runoff. Rainwater harvesting and reverse-osmosis desalination secure the water supply without over-drawing the island’s fragile freshwater lens.
Low-carbon
Solar PV with storage leads the energy supply, and drastically reduced food-miles cut emissions against imported produce landed from thousands of kilometres away.
Circular by design
Crop residues feed compost; coconut husk becomes coir and coco-peat for the farm’s own growing media. Protected cultivation and integrated pest management sharply lower chemical use.
Biosecurity
Incoming planting material is quarantined and inspected; clean production zones are separated from logistics with controlled entry, foot-baths and hygiene protocols.
Food safety
Every line is governed by HACCP-aligned food safety and Good Agricultural Practices, from nursery through grading, packing and cold chain.
Coastal protection
A retained perimeter buffer of native trees and a coconut canopy provide windbreak, shade and biodiversity while safeguarding a continuous vegetated shoreline.
05 — National impact
The Maldives imports about 90% of its food. Every tonne we grow at home is resilience the country keeps.
- →A third pillar. Agriculture is targeted to become the third pillar of the economy after tourism and fisheries. This farm advances that objective directly.
- →Import substitution. The portfolio targets the Government’s priority import-substitution crops, displacing produce currently landed by ship.
- →A regional hub. The island anchors a hub-and-spoke network — supplying seedlings, inputs, training and guaranteed buy-back to outgrowers on neighbouring islands.
- →Inclusive jobs. 45 direct jobs at maturity, rising to 85%+ Maldivian employment, with a deliberate focus on women and youth (≥40% women).
- →Community contribution. An MVR 500,000 CSR contribution to the Fisheries Trust Fund within the first ten years of the lease.

Nutrifresh provides turnkey system design, commissioning, agronomy protocols, training and ongoing remote support; knowledge transfers progressively to a Maldivian workforce.

Percon Corporation Sdn Bhd
A Malaysian development and investment company financing the full MVR 16,000,000 development fund as foreign direct investment into Atoll Harvest — an equity subscription, with no project-level debt, held in a ring-fenced Maldivian project account and drawn against verifiable milestones. No capital cost to the State.
